Kern Conference

Overview.

This project revolves around the design of the brand identity for the 2020 Tokyo KERN Conference. This two-day event gathers some of the world's most dynamic and influential practitioners to share their experiences in the development of corporate, brand, and illustrative typography projects.

Concept.

In an effort to underscore the distinct characteristics of the host city, I've woven the captivating neon evening sights of Tokyo's Shibuya district into my design approach. Therefore, light boxes form the backbone of the design, with different perspectives merging to create an integrated visual language.

Results.

The entire design is centered around the concept of light boxes, encapsulating the neon vibrancy that Shibuya is famed for. Each light box, rendered from certain perspectives, mirrors the dynamism of the cityscape. By stitching together these diverse visual elements, I created a comprehensive and striking visual language.
